MACHU PICCHU EXPERIENCE

We will start our tour in the magical city of Cusco where you will experience the rich history of the city. The next day, we will visit the amazing Sacred Valley of the Incas is composed of the valleys connected by the Urubamba River between the Districts of Pisaq and Ollantaytambo.
The citadel of Machu Picchu. Now known as one of the “Seven Wonders of the World” or “Navel of the World”, it is currently considered a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and is the most visited destination in Peru for having extraordinary architectural and landscape samples, preserving a peculiar Flora and fauna.

DAY 1: WELCOME TO CUSCO & CITY TOUR

• Transfer to your hotel.
• Briefing about the program.
• City tour of historical Cusco.
• Overnight in Cusco.

DAY 2: SACRED VALLEY TOUR- AGUAS CALIENTES (B / BL)

• Pick up at the arranged time.
• Day tour of the enchanting Sacred Valley.
• Pisaq traditional market is a living outdoor museum.
• Lunch at a local restaurant.
• Visit Ollantaytambo, a place where Incan stonemasons expressed their talent and genius.
• Train journey to Aguas Calientes.
• You will be picked up by our staff who will take you to your hotel.
• At your hotel our guide will contact you to give you the last recommendations for your next amazing tour in the morning.
• Overnight in Aguas Calientes

DAY 3: MACHU PICCHU TOUR (B / L)

• Transfer by bus from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu (RT)
• Early tour of Machu Picchu with local guide.
• Discover the mysterious site which was never found by gold-hungry Spaniards.
• 2.5 hours guided tour around the ancient citadel.
• Bus back down to Aguas Calientes.
• Delicious lunch in a nice restaurant.
• Train journey back to Ollanta or Poroy.
• Transfer by bus from the train station to Cusco city.
• Overnight in Cusco.

DAY 4: CUSCO FAREWELL (B)

• Departure from Cusco.
• Pick up from your hotel.
• Transfer to airport for your flight home.
• Farewell.

DAY 1: WELCOME TO CUSCO & CITY TOUR

You will be picked up at your arrival to Cusco and transferred to your hotel.
We recommend you take some time to rest to get acclimatized to the altitude of the city of Cusco (its elevation is around 3,400m or 11,200ft above sea level).

In the afternoon at around 13.30 a bus will pick you up and take you around the northern Cusco where we will visit the ancient Inca and pre-Inca constructions Sacsayhuaman, Kenko, Pucapucara and Tambomachay. Then we will explore the city center with its pre-Inca, Inca and colonial streets, visit the Inca temple “Koricancha” (The Sun’s Temple) and finally the Cathedral in the main square.

It’s going to be an easy day walking around Cusco, getting an idea about all the different options you have in this cosmopolitan city: museums, shops, markets, restaurants and of course the best locations to spend the night.

DAY 2: SACRED VALLEY TOUR- AGUAS CALIENTES (B / BL)

In the morning we will pick you up at your hotel at about 8.00 am and travel to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, a tranquil oasis of cultural, historical, and agricultural richness just 45 minutes from Cusco where the Incas once built important cities such as Pisac and Ollantaytambo.

We will enjoy the beautiful Andean landscape during the day. Our first stop will be the typical handicraft market of Pisaq which is famous for its beautiful handicrafts that delight thousands of visitors every year.
Then we will visit the impressive archaeological park of Pisac. including ornate palaces and temples, and magnificent agricultural terraces on the mountains.

A delicious Buffet Lunch will be waiting for us in Urubamba (Muña Restaurant).
We will continue our tour through the Sacred Valley to Ollantaytambo to visit its Inca ruins. It is the second archaeological place after Machupicchu in importance order. A town comprised of sturdy Incan walls and a stunning sight in the narrow valley.

After the tour your guide will left you at the train station to take the train to Aguas calientes (Machupicchu).
Arriving to the train station, we will be waiting for you to drive you to your hotel. Where our guide will contact you to give you the last recommendations for your next amazing tour in the morning.

DAY 3: MACHU PICCHU TOUR (B / L)

We start our tour to Machu Picchu in the early hours of the morning taking the bus up to Machu Picchu citadel to explore one of the New World 7 Wonders.
We are going to have our guided tour (approx. 2,5 hours), having enough time for the contemplation of the amazing scenery. We will explore the Intiwatana (Sun’s Connection Shrine), the Condor Temple, the Three Windows Temple, Andean terraces, and other places of interest.

You will have enough time to walk around the archeological complex, capture these incredible memories with your camera, feel and appreciate the energy and peacefulness of this sacred place.

In the afternoon you will go back to the town to get your lunch and after take the train back to Ollantaytambo or Poroy station from where you will return to Cusco by bus from there to finally overnight in your hotel in Cusco.
**Optional : For those who like more action there is the option to take the challenging, unguided hike to the top of Wayna Picchu, (the young mountain – prior booking is necessary only 400 tickets are sold daily ) where you will have the best view of the site. This hike is highly recommended for people who are in the right physical condition, as it truly gives unparalleled views of Machu Picchu.**Optional : For those who like more action there is the option to take the challenging, unguided hike to the top of Wayna Picchu, (the young mountain – prior booking is necessary only 400 tickets are sold daily ) where you will have the best view of the site.
