Who you are booking with

Every journey on this site is operated by INKA RAINBOW INVERSIONES TURISTICA S.A.C., trading as Inka Rainbow Travel Service, a tour operator registered in Cusco, Peru, with tax identification number (RUC) 20603662149. Our full company details are on the legal notice.

How a booking works

1. You write to us. Through the planning form, by email or on WhatsApp. Tell us your dates, how many of you are travelling and what matters to you.
2. We reply within 24 hours, Monday to Saturday, with questions if we need them.
3. You receive a private proposal: the itinerary day by day, the hotels by name, and the price. You can change it as many times as you need.
4. You confirm. We send you a secure payment link for the deposit.

Prices

All prices are quoted in US dollars, per person, based on two people sharing a double room, unless the proposal says otherwise. A price is only firm once it appears on a written proposal with your dates on it: rates change with the season and with availability of hotels, trains and entrance tickets.

Deposit and balance

• 25% of the total to confirm the booking, paid through the link we send you.
• The remaining 75% no later than 15 days before the start of your journey.
• If you would rather pay the balance in instalments, ask your travel designer before confirming.

How you can pay

• Credit or debit card (Visa), through our payment gateway
• Bank transfer
• PayPal
• Western Union
• Cash, at our office in Cusco

Card payments carry a 5% surcharge applied by the payment processor. We tell you the exact amount before you pay, and you can avoid it by paying by transfer.

Changing your dates

You can move the start date of your journey, subject to availability and to the policies of the hotels, trains and operators involved. An administration fee between 10% and 50% of the total applies, depending on how close you are to your original departure date. Machu Picchu entrance tickets and train tickets are issued in your name for a specific date and cannot be changed or refunded by anyone, including us.

If you need to cancel

Cancellations must reach us in writing, by email to alvalderrama@inkarainbow.com. The date we receive your message is the date we apply.

In every case, Machu Picchu entrance tickets, train tickets and any non-refundable hotel nights already issued in your name are deducted before the refund is calculated. Refunds are paid by the same method you used, within 30 days.

Weather and events outside our control

Tours cancelled because of weather, strikes, road blocks or any other event outside our control are not automatically refundable, because the costs have already been committed on your behalf. What we do is find you an alternative: another date, another route, or a different experience of equivalent value. Talk to your travel designer and we will work it out. This is how we handled the rail strike that affected a group in 2019, and it is how we will handle yours.

Travel insurance

We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance covering medical costs, altitude-related illness, trip cancellation and baggage. Much of what we do happens above 3,000 metres and far from a hospital. We do not sell insurance; buy it from a provider in your own country, and buy it when you confirm, not the week before you fly.

Your responsibility

• A passport valid for at least six months beyond your return date, and any visa you need
• Telling us in writing about medical conditions, allergies, dietary needs, reduced mobility or anything else that affects how we plan your days
• Arriving at the times agreed in your itinerary
