Day by day
Welcome to Costa Rica
Day 1-
Arrival at Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO). The Inka Rainbow team will welcome you and provide a private transfer to your lodge immersed in the jungle in the Arenal Volcano area.

Birding at Arenal Volcano
Day 2-
Very early departure with a specialized naturalist guide. We will observe toucans, parrots, oropendolas, and colorful tanagers. For the more expert birders, we will search for rare species such as the Royal Flycatcher or the Cinnamon Woodpecker.

Transfer to Monteverde crossing Lake Arenal
Day 3-
Picturesque journey combining minivan and a cruise across Lake Arenal. Ideal opportunity to spot waterbirds such as kingfishers and herons. Upon reaching the other side, scenic ascent to the cloud forest.

Birding in Monteverde
Day 4-
Monteverde is home to approximately 400 bird species. During the morning walk through the reserve, our main goal will be to find the majestic Quetzal, the Orange-bellied Trogon, and the Emerald Toucanet.

Transfer to Tárcoles / Central Pacific
Day 5-
Descent to the Central Pacific coast to the Tárcoles River. This biological transition zone is fantastic for spotting Scarlet Macaws (lapas) in their natural habitat, as well as shorebirds.

Private transfer from your hotel in Tárcoles to Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) for your departure flight.
